This was a shot I took at what used to be New York's longest running Gothic event, Alchemy. It was held at CB's 313 Gallery, right next to CBGB's, on Monday nights. Unusual for a Goth night, but it ran for more than a decade. Live bands performed from 10PM until 2AM, and the rest of the night was goth, new wave, and other related music until 4AM. This picture is of Singer/Songstress Velocity Chyalld of Vulgaras, a local band here in New York. A dear friend of mine for many years, and many different incarnations and transformations of her appearance. This shot, I think, personifies her namesake. Who'd have thought I could capture a shot like this with a dated, alkaline battery-operated digital camera?
